Schools – Monitoring Climate Change from Space talk

We have a local very recently retired scientist from the Mullard Space Science Laboratory/University College London who is very keen to come into local schools to talk to students about her career.
This presentation of about 30 minutes, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers is ideal for students with a genuine interest in the planet and/or Science. The talk, entitled ‘Monitoring Climate Change from Space’ is an overview of how space-bourne measurements are key to understanding how our climate is changing. An explanation is given as to how science teams acquire and use this information to influence decision makers, with the focus on melting ice and rising sea levels.
Much of the science happens in the UK so careers in this area are also part of the talk.

We are also delighted to hear Therfield School also followed up on one the grant opportunities on our website. A Year 13 student made an application & got £500.00 towards making an eco science garden.
