A Circular Dorking collaborative project with S C Fuller, Dorking Minds, Dorking Climate Emergency, Foodfloat and Dorking Together
Over 200 refugees will be wearing warm coats this winter thanks to the wonderful Dorking community.
Volunteers from 5 community organisations and businesses worked together on the collection.
S C Fullers on South Street opened their doors and people from the Dorking area ransacked their wardrobes and brought in coat after coat.
Paul used the Food Float van to take them to Mitcham, where Dr Sheena Khan who runs the collection depot for Care4Calais received them.
“We literally had no coats left to give out,” she said. “Dorking’s generosity has made all the difference to people who literally have nothing. Please thank them from the bottom of my heart.”
