BUNT-A-THON – Be Part of Something Special!
25th August 2026

What a glorious summer we’re having! Although we’re still enjoying the sunshine, here at Tracey’s Sewing Room we’re already planning for the months ahead. Before we know it, the new school term will be here, the weather will turn cooler, and the evenings will start drawing in.
Autumn and winter are the perfect seasons to dust off your sewing machine, start an exciting new project, or finally finish those half-completed makes that have been patiently waiting for your attention.
So now let’s all be part of something special for the autumn!
Looking ahead to Christmas, Circular Dorking and Hello Dorking are launching a wonderful community project to brighten our town by decorating the High Street with beautiful, sustainable handmade bunting for Christmas and future community celebrations.
We’re hoping to involve as many local people as possible, and I’d love for our sewing community to be part of it!
All you need to do is donate a little of your time to sew some flags which just might be a fantastic way to use up those treasured fabric scraps and remnants we all have tucked away!
We’ll be turning the flags into bunting here in the shop and then they’ll be hung around the town so you’ll see your handiwork on display for Christmas.
To make it as easy as possible, I’m providing a free pattern either downloadable online or as a hardcopy in the shop. For those who are confident sewing bunting you’ll have what you need. For those who haven’t done it for a while or ever I will also be providing a free online tutorial.
Like to get involved!
Please use the subject Bunt-a-thon and I’ll send you all the details.
