Little stories to inspire big changes

15 Mile Foods

Food Less Travelled

15 Miles Foods, as the name suggests, grows food that is supplied within 15 miles from soil to fork. FoodFloat has been supplier of 15 Miles Foods for some years, include cucumbers, peppers, garlic and aubergines.

The UK farming and agricultural industry is having a challenging time, and providing local food to local people is becoming more important for our food security and to grow a more circular economy.

More growing space needed

Ed at 15 Miles Foods is looking for a small plot of land to address this. Ideally on a peppercorn or low rental basis.

Ideal locations would be Ashtead or within 2-3 miles, so Leatherhead, Fetcham, or even the north side of Dorking.

Minimum size to be viable would be around 400msq (say 20m x 20m or similar) and possibly, subject to planning (if needed), Ed would erect a greenhouse or polytunnel.

Do you have space like this?  Can you help a local food business grow and supply food to the local community?

If you could be interested to help, contact Circular Dorking or email Ed directly.
